Discover the art of Gelliprinting and make a book at Clevedon Craft Centre 08/03/25

£35.00 / Sold Out

What?
Learn how to Gelliprint (monoprint without a press).
This is the perfect course for beginners but can also be valuable and enjoyable for those who've had some experience of gel plate printing.

Using simple stencils and found materials, we'll first explore the basics of Gelliprinting and practice printing.
If you like the idea of printing around a theme like pebbles or botanicals or circles I'll show you some ideas and you can use my stencils or create your own.
Alternatively you can just keep it open to playful exploration of the mark making materials on hand.
Then you'll choose a colour palette and print an entire sheet of cartridge paper before learning how to create your own type of book - you can choose from a concertina book (also known as an accordion book) or an artists book (simple folded design) . . . or if you are feeling ambitious you can make double sided pieces which you will fold into a lotus book (first image)!
If time permits, you can also make cardboard covers and print them too for the concertina and lotus books.

The books shown are just an indication of the kind of book you can make in this way, (including in the last image those made from recent students) but each one will be unique to you.

Gelliprinting is fast to learn and fun and it's easy to get hooked!

When?
It runs from 10 - 1pm on Saturday 8th March 2025

How much?
£35 per person which includes all materials you will use on the day.

Note: If you prefer to pay by bank transfer please get in touch.

The max group size is 10 so you'll have lots of chance to get help and ask questions in a relaxed informal setting.
