What?
Learn how to print without a press, exploring festive colours on a Gelli plate, using texture materials and simple stencils to create vibrant pages, which we'll cut and collage onto cards.
Then we'll cut and emboss tin shapes to decorate the cards with - these can be removed from the cards and used as decorations too! The tin shapes could be folk art style, or simple leaf shapes or traditional Xmas shapes - the choice is entirely yours! Here I've done some Scandi style shapes and marks using a template.
For beginners or those who've had some experience of gel plate printing - no art or drawing experience needed (outlines and templates for the tin embossing will be provided for those who want some support, or you can cut outlines then choose to embellish them as you see fit)!
With the aim of creating your own unique greetings cards or even a decorative garland of embossed tin shapes. . . . what you do and how you do it is your choice so you will have made something unique to you.
We'll explore the materials through play and then create what we've chosen to make in the time!
Both gelliprinting and tin embossing are so much fun and it's easy to get hooked!
These skills and ideas could take you way beyond festive card making too!
