A 4-Week In-Person Creative Reset
Ever wanted to try printmaking, but felt put off by expensive presses, toxic chemicals, or complex setups? This 4-week course strips away the technical intimidation to focus on pure, relaxing creative play. You will discover how to create striking, handmade art prints right at your kitchen table using low-cost, space-friendly materials.
Whether you are an absolute beginner looking for a fresh creative outlet or a seasoned maker wanting low-mess techniques, this course is designed for you. No drawing skills are required—abstract ideas, organic shapes, and realistic designs are all welcomed, with plenty of support materials provided.
What You Will Explore:
Week 1: Monoprinting & Mark-Making – Explore line work, mark making, and one-off trace prints using perspex sheets and water-soluble inks.
Week 2: Tetra Pak Intaglio Printing – Upcycle everyday milk cartons into print plates by scoring, inking, and hand-burnishing with a simple spoon or jar.
Week 3: Hand-Carved Stamps & Patterns – Design and carve reusable rubber stamps to build repeating patterns (makes great wrapping paper) to use alongside other prints or as standalone art.
Week 4: Gelli Printing & The Combined Press – Layer vibrant, textured gelli-plate backgrounds with your stamps and Tetra Pak plates. Bring different together into striking multi-layered prints or a concertina artist book.

Guidance on how to easily and affordably source simple tools to continue printing at home.
Pre-class email prompts packed with visual inspiration to kickstart your ideas.

4 consecutive weeks: Friday 06/11; Sat 14/11; Fri 20/11 and the final part Fri 27/11
Time: 10-1pm
How much?
*£160.00 per person which includes all materials you will use and refreshments.

The max group size is 10 so you'll have lots of chance to get help and ask questions in a relaxed informal setting.

The room is upstairs in an old listed building.
Please wear warm, old clothes that you don't mind getting paint on during Winter months - we have 4 large heaters in the room too.
Parking is FREE on site.
