Spend a cozy autumn morning playing with rich metallics, leaves and leaf stencils, and mosaic patterns. No drawing skills required!
As the leaves turn and the evenings draw in, it is the perfect time to retreat indoors for a creative reset.
Join me for a special, one-off 3-hour workshop where we bring the opulent, shimmering world of Gustav Klimt to the gelli plate.
Klimt’s famous "Golden Phase" is a beautiful match for the warm, rich colours of autumn. In this relaxed, hands-on session, you will learn how to build gorgeous, layered prints using a unique combination of metallic paints and tactile mark-making.
What?
How to roll and layer rich gold, bronze, and copper paints without muddying your colours.
Resist & Scratch Textures: learn simple resist techniques to create patterns and use everyday tools to etch Klimt-esque spirals, squares, and geometric patterns straight into the wet paint.
Botanical Masking: Incorporating autumn leaf shapes and stencils to create high-contrast positive and negative space.
The Velvet Pull: How to transfer your final shimmering layers onto paper or card for artwork that catches the light beautifully.
Gelli printing is fast-paced, highly therapeutic, and deeply satisfying. Because the process is entirely about texture, colour, and pattern rather than precise drawing, it is completely impossible to get it wrong.
You will leave with a stunning collection of shimmering, multi-layered prints ready to frame or turn into luxurious greeting cards.
When?
It runs from 10 - 1pm on Saturday 17th October (booking for all Autumn classes opens 1st September)
How much?
£40.00 per person which includes all materials you will use on the day and blank cards.
The max group size is 10 so you'll have lots of chance to get help and ask questions in a relaxed informal setting.
