What?
Learn how to Gelliprint (monoprint without a press).
We'll start by exploring making backgrounds to get used to pulling a print, going from flat layers to those with some texture and interest - lots of play with pressing different objects into the plate.
Using simple stencils and found materials, we'll build layers - these can be completely abstract or involve specific shapes.
If you like the idea of printing around a theme like pebbles or botanicals or circles I'll show you some ideas and you can use my stencils or create your own.
Alternatively you can just keep it open to playful exploration of the mark making materials on hand and see what happens!
For those who would like to, you could then print an entire sheet of cartridge paper before learning how to create an artists book (simple folded design) . . . or you can keep on creating individual prints.
Gelliprinting is fast to learn and fun and it's easy to get hooked and you leave class with your own unique prints. The first photo is just some of 1 students prints made from a beginners class; the others show just a small selection of the type of prints you can make.
When?
It runs from 10 - 1pm on Saturday 7th March 2025
How much?
£40 per person which includes all materials you will use on the day.

The max group size is 10 so you'll have lots of chance to get help and ask questions in a relaxed informal setting.

The room is upstairs in an old listed building.
There are 4 big heaters in the room that keep us cosy but please wear layers of warm, old clothes that you don't mind getting paint on during Winter months.
Parking is free on site.
