Formato

The 'Portugal Dreaming' series were painted on location in Portugal in April of this year. They started as explorations of the colour palettes I associate with Portugal and quickly became about so much more than colour - they are aspects of life and energy and love I feel for the country which I have visited many times over the years.
This piece, Formato (Shape), came about through a love of the repeated shapes and forms of the tiles I love to study, but with a playfulness in their composition.
