Ayes to the right

'Ayes to the right' is one of a series of mixed media work which feature Xs. These arose through playful exploration as part of my 100 day project on Instagram - 100 days of play - and I came to see them as symbols of change.
The works are multi-layered using collage materials, painted papers and painting directly onto the works. They've been worn back and built up until an interesting surface presents itself and then the final collage or spray painted Xs are incorporated into the surface.

50cm square mixed media work on a birchwood cradled panel, sold ready to hang unframed. Finished with cold wax for a soft sheen.
